PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

DynaGrip Anaerobic Gasket Maker is a single component solvent free compound that is individually formulated for locking, sealing, retaining and bonding metal parts. Stable in the presence of air, this product cures when placed between mating metal surfaces, forming a resilient, vibration proof polymer shim. DynaGrip Anaerobic Gasket Maker is ideally suited for joints that require no gasket but require a leak proof joint. DynaGrip Anaerobic Gasket Maker provides the user with additional performance characteristics, including resistance to corrosion or galvanic attack, as well as solvent resistance whilst allowing for disassembly with normal tools.

PERFORMANCE PROPERTIES:

DynaGrip Anaerobic Gasket Maker conforms to the metal imperfections and tooling marks remaining on flanged surfaces thus allowing a metal to metal fit of the parts eliminating the need to re-torque compressible mechanical gaskets. This product is designed for use in light threadlocking application on a course thread. Uncured product is compatible with fuels, solvents, hydraulic oils but cured joints are chemically resistant. DynaGrip Anaerobic Gasket Maker is capable of filling gaps of 0.25mm to 1.36mm without the use of a primer activator. Due to instant sealing assembled parts may be low pressure tested within minutes. Heat can also be used to overcome gap or inactive surfaces as follows:

0.51mm to 0.76mm     2 Hrs. @ 120oC
1.27mm                         3 Hrs. @ 120oC

For cold cure (temps. Below room temp.) primer should be used. At 0oC full cure time is about 48 Hours through zero gap.

Primed parts must be assembled within 3 minutes from the time the sealant contacts the primed surface.

  1. Tensile strength performed on a 1" square steel button, cured @93oC for 24 hours. High clamping loads have resulted in lower tensile strength.
  2. Tensile sheer strength performed per ASTM D1002 on sandblasted steel coupons with a 0.25mm gap.
  3. Break/Prevailing torque on a degreased Grade 5, 3/8 – 16, carbon steel bolts and nuts, with zero seating torque.

SOLVENT RESISTANCE:

Strips of steel and Aluminium were bonded with DynaGrip Anaerobic Gasket Maker, cured for 24 Hours at room temp and then immersed in the following solvents for 15 days at 86oC.

TYPICAL USES:

DynaGrip Anaerobic Gasket Maker is an anaerobic sealant that can replace or be used with as a dressing for conventional gaskets. To obtain the best results, clean parts from contamination such as grease dirt and oil.
