3. Hazards identification
Comment : Methyl Ethyl Ketoxime is formed upon contact with water or
moisture in the air. Provide adequate ventilation to control exposures to
within the exposure guideline of 2ppm (TWA).
Eye Contact: Direct contact irritates slightly with redness and swelling
Skin Contact: A single short exposure (<24 hours) may irritate. Repeated
prolonged contact (24 - 48 hours) may irritate moderately. Possible skin
sensitisers with some individuals.
Inhalation: Vapour overexposure may cause drowsiness, injure blood, liver
and irritate eyes, nose and throat.
Oral: Small amounts transferred to the mouth by fingers during use should
not injure. Swallowing large amounts may injure slightly.

4. First-aid measures
For advice, contact a Poisons Information Centre (Phone eg. Australia 131

Skin: Remove from skin and immediately flush with water for 15 minutes. Seek
medical attention if irritation or ill effects develop or persist.
Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. Seek medical attention if ill
effects persists.
Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with water for 15 minutes.
Ingestion: Seek medical attention.
Note to physician: Treat symptomatically. Effects may be delayed.
5. Fire-fighting measures
Specific Hazards: Combustible paste
Fire Fighting Advice: Combustible but under normal conditions of use is not
considered a risk.
Extinguishing Media: Water fog (or if unavailable fine water spray), Carbon
Dioxide, (CO2), Dry Chemical, Foam
Fire-fighting equipment: Fire fighters to wear self-contained breathing
apparatus and suitable protective clothing if risk of exposure to vapour or
products of combustion.
6. Accidental release measures
SMALL SPILLS: Slippery when spilt. Clean up immediately. Wipe up with rag or
absorbent paper. Any residual can be cleaned up with mineral turpentine or
similar hydrocarbon solvent, or acetone based nail polish remover. Cured
material can be removed by cutting or abrasion.
LARGE SPILLS: Slippery when spilt. Clean up immediately. Wear protective
equipment to prevent skin and eye contact. Avoid breathing in vapours. Work
up win or increase ventilation. Scrape up excess material before cure.
Collect and seal in properly labelled containers or drums for disposal.
Cured material can only be removed by cutting or abrasion.

Handling Advice: Avoid skin and eye contact and breathing in vapour.
Storage Requirements: Keep containers closed when not in use - check
regularly for leeks. Store in clean, dry locations away from excessive heat

Occupational Exposure Limits: No value assigned for this specific material

Engineering Control Measures: Ensure ventilation is adequate and that air
concentrations of components are controlled below any quoted Exposure
Levels. Use in well ventilated areas. Keep containers closed when not in

requirements of AS/NZS 1715 and AS/NZS 1716.

No adverse health effects expected if product is handled in accordance with
this Safety Data Sheet. Symptoms or effects that may arise if the product is
mishandled and overexposure occurs are:
Ingestion: Swallowing may result in irritation to the mouth and throat. No
adverse effects expected after swallowing cured (solvent free ) sealant.
Skin contact: Repeated or prolonged contact may lead to irritation. Methyl
ethyl ketoxime liberated is a skin sensitiser. Repeated or prolonged contact
may lead to allergic dermatitis in sensitive individuals. Cured sealant is
not expected to be a skin irritant.
Inhalation: Methyl ethyl ketoxime liberated during cure may be irritated to
the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.
